Dear Stephen,

Having been a "re-importer" of Canadian meds for nearly four years, I can tell you that Big Pharma will stop at nothing to make a buck. We've had to sit and listen to their propaganda machine spew absolute lies regarding the safety of foreign manufactured drugs. The sole intent being to intimidate the Public and preserve their profits in the U.S.

What the average American doesn't know is, Big Pharma has been manufacturing U.S. meds overseas for some time now. Take Lipitor for instance, the largest selling drug in the world. It's not made in the U.S. and has not been manufactured here for some time. Lipitor, for N. America, is made in Ireland and to a lesser extent Puerto Rico. The FDA is certainly aware of this since they inspect those plants every two years yet, they will assist Big Pharma in perpetuating the bogus saftey argument. I've been dying to ask the FDA or HHS; how is it a drug made in Ireland, under the watchfull eye of the FDA, sold only to licensed wholesalers and pharmacies, is not safe? To top it all off, by Canadian regulation all drugs must be sold in the original manufacturer's packaging (unlike the U.S.). What mysterious transformation takes place from point A to B?

Even Pharma's "lack of research funds" doesn't pass the laugh test. More and more of their R&D is being done overseas. Not to mention the NIH funds they receive compliments of the American taxpayer.

Big Pharma could care less about safety. It's the profit.

Our only salvation? I have three words, "campaign finance reform". We have to get Big Pharma and other corporations, out of our politician's pockets.

Here's an article addressing the issues posted in USA Today, which can also be seen on our web site:
